Would you pay to go see Mr. Las Vegas?

Snides,
It followed him his whole career. I didn't look at the Larry King link, but I'm sure it mentioned the Johnny Carson incident. I think it would bother anyone.

Liondownow,
I think he actually can play 12-13 instuments. Lots of talent.

Good Luck!

Ironically I just drove by Wayne's house today on Sunset Ave.

Although many of you have said that Wayne is done, or has been for many years,
can you really blame him for doing something that he really loves to do, and that is to perform.
That's what professional entertainers live for.
Who wouldn't want to receive a nice pay check to do something they love doing ?

Cut the man some slack.
You would probably do the same thing.

Thank you.

I don't expect cutting edge. The show is just as much or more for history than it is for his one time talent.

It is kind of like going to see Frank Sinatra past his prime.

He is part of Las Vegas history and I think I would love his stories.

Enjoy him before he is gone.

I agree. If the show is more his telling stories than music, I would be more inclined to go.

He's a Vegas Legend. The one man show is a retrospective, not a concert. I'd definitely go. I can't believe he's only 73.... figured him for 80. His first Vegas gig was at the Fremont in 1958 at the age of 16. So he's been playing Vegas for 57 years.
I remember seeing him on Bonanza as a little kid. He was quite famous then but I didn't know that. Then I saw him on the Lucille Ball Show and my mother told me he was a big star. He's got a damn fine estate.
On our last trip, the Mrs. wanted to take a tour of his property on Sunset (Casa de Shenandoah). It was a bit pricey, but for a 3 1/2 hour tour it wasn't bad. A good way to spend all afternoon.
What the hell, I could lose the cost of the tour in 5 minutes on the BJ tables. The wife was happy.
During the tour when we were checking out his Arabian horses, Wayne and his wife drove by & stopped, shook everyone’s hand & spoke with everyone & posed for pictures for anyone who wanted to take them.

But what impressed me about Wayne Newton, was the number of USO tours he went on entertaining our troops, especially in Vietnam.

Saw him once and that was more than enough. No thank you
Only if Clark and Ellen are part of the show.
If wiki is to be believed, he appears to either have money issues, or doesn't believe on paying his bills.
