Would You Read This Book?

ksucidlo: I would certainly like to take you up on your offer. Though I've been an English teacher for 20+ years and know my way around an essay, something of this undertaking needs a pro to see the error of my ways. Also, your suggestions are very much appreciated.

Rock n Rick: Certainly understand. There's a lot of books out there, though about Vegas, don't interest me as well.

havefunlv: You're right. I, too, have overheard these small conversations, which inspired me with this idea.

I'm sure I would need to appeal to a broad an audience as possible. Though Las Vegas is the main point of view here, I hope to write the individuals in a very human way exploring not only their roles in the Vegas machinery but how this has affected their lives.

I would imagine my first publisher to be contacted would be Hunington Press. But I've no doubt this will take a close to a year as I would have to make contacts, do the interviews/pictures and write the thing. And I haven't decided to do this or not, but your comments positive and negative along with your suggestions are really helping.

Thanks
I totally agree with havefunlv - I immediately thought "The Help" - vegas style. Teriffic idea and yes, I would certainly buy it. Ksucidlo already has some very sound ideas.

May I suggest Frankie Rizzo on the free side as a possible candidate for interviews - he works as a valet at Caesars (if he doesn't have thoughts for his own book - he has quite a way with words too).

Best of luck, Jon!

I loved your Nevada series last year so I would also be very interested in reading your potential book. I think you will have a hard time keeping it under several hundred pages with the number of great stories you're likely to find when you start doing research.

Also, isn't one of the members here a limo driver?I bet he would have some stories to tell.

Maybe Jon and Frankie and the limo driver should talk to Anthony and see if he would interested in publishing their stories.

I think it would be a interesting read!
I would definitely read your book! Thoroughly enjoyed your trip reports last summer. Looked forward to them everyday and was sorry to see your trip end. You made Nevada an interesting place to visit!
Don't forget about the hosts!
I thought about a host, but in a way, I rather consider them an arm of management or supervisor, plus I think their tenure is so fragile, I wouldn't be able to get them to be completely forthcoming. Of course, I could be wrong and will take it under advisement.

Thanks!
Jon, If I could figure out how this messaging system works I'd send you my information. If you'll pm me, I will respond...I've mastered that part! k
