Would You Still Visit Vegas If The Drinks Weren’t Free?

Drink through the alphabet like I do. That's maximizing the free drinks
It will be a bummer if this catches on.

One of our favorite Vegas games is to have two "free" drinks at each casino as we work our way up and down Fremont street downtown.
Never have made it through all of them in one day.
Or, ask your host nicely to have a bottles of Crown Royal and Bombay Sapphire put in your room so they are there on your arrival. That's what I did for my upcoming Reno trip. Answer was yes of course
Since I don't drink alcohol, it doesn't bother me if drinks were no longer free. Even charging for nonalcoholic drinks doesn't faze me since I make it a point to drink as little liquid as possible while gambling. Why waste precious gambling time making numerous trips to the rest room if I don't have to?

That being said, free-flowing drinks do help create a certain vibe in Vegas casinos that I find indispensable. My gaming experience is enhanced by people who boldly order Budweisers at 6 in the morning and by drunks who take inordinate amounts of time figuring out if they should keep that low pair in order to go for the royal on their VP machines.

I like "free" drinks! I drink top shelf so I love free drinks! The Wynn and Encore suck not giving free drinks! 10 feet away and you can get all the FREE drinks you want!
Probably not.
I have to pay for my drinks at the local indian casinos. Coffee is comped at the tables.
So is water.
Used to get free cigarettes, way back when.
The downtown casinos in 'Vegas have GREAT pay tables and give out free drinks.
I don't get those perks in Washington State.
Benny Binion started that idea and it DOES work.

A drunk player is easy meat. Guilty of doing dumb-ass plays when alchohol is involved.
I have been "Over served" twice, in 30 years.
Cut off only once.
If the casinos didn't offer free drinks,I would have people buying them for me anyway.
Especially at the bars.
I have met the nicest people at the VP bars!
The Fremont is one. Any others?
I never drink alcohol while gambling. So that wouldn't really matter to me.
I believe at one time very long ago, that LV casinos charged for drinks. There was competition which slowly drove the prices down to around 50 cents a drink. I believe Benny Binion then started giving drinks for free to those who played. The standard was picked up by all of the casinos.

While this hasn't happened yet, it is truly sad to think that casinos are considering this.
Yes without doubt... I love the action..drinks never really enter the picture. I would drink the same amount. On the other side of the coin I have a lot of those $20.00 bar top free beers. Yes now that hurts....
Since I can't drink anymore, it doesn't bother me. However, when I was drinking, a drunk time had I at the craps tables. Spent loads of extra money making stupid bets and throwing the boys chips. Enjoyed the drunks, hated the hangovers and the lost cash. Although the wins usually made up for my losses.
