Wynn offer....what would you do???

My son received three free nights, $200 for food and beverage a day and $1,000 in slot play at the Wynn. He booked a weekend in August. He doesn't know how he received the offer because he does not gamble that much.

Kingbarkus is about to become unhinged...

In the past, a friend of mine, who rarely gambles, got a offer from Palazzo where he was given free rooms as often as he wanted in a 3 month time frame, along with food and $100 free play.

He never put more than $20 in a slot machine in his life.
First the advice: Take all you can get! Have fun spending Steve's money elsewhere!
Second: My take on non or minimal gamblers getting offers is simple. The casino marketing department wants to turn these people who dont gamble or gamble very little into gamblers by giving them boo coo free play. Once they become gamblers, then the offers dry-up. Marketing 101!

If you take the money and play it at Wynn, you may recieve more offers. If you play it thru once with the idea of gambling elsewhere, you may not get any more. Depending on what you play, why does it matter if you play there or elsewhere?

Agreed!!!! You also get the bonus of staying at a great hotel
Dude, if your going to just blow the cash, do it smartly. Have the wife and yourself take the slot money, find a slot you all like and start playing until the FSP runs out. The High Limit area would be the best bet for both of you.

Once the FSP is gone, then do what ever, hell you may even get more offers.
I also received this offer for 3 nights in a parlor suite, $1000 Freeplay and $600 ($200 per day) food & beverage. My play at the Wynn consisted of signing up for the card and doing the roulette trick for 2 free buffets about 2 1/2 years ago. I was very nervous that there is/was a catch, but I did book the offer for 3 weekdays in August and there doesn't appear to be a problem. I'm hoping to get enough back from the free play to play some more through the machines at Wynn for their generosity. They even offered me transportation from the airport but I politely declined because I always rent a car. I'm not a premium player at any other property either. Several years ago I was a platinum at Harrahs but that's it.

I'm not counting on getting another offer so I plan to enjoy this one.

Very interesting. You and the OP both did the Video Roulette "trick" for the 2 Free Buffets and never really came back. The Wynn computers probably (obviously I am guessing) identified you both as players playing at $9 a pull on video slots during 1 short visit. They may have extended the offer figuring you would play at that level in the long term. If a human (again this is all my personal guess) looked deeper they would see that you only earned the required points for the 2 Free Buffets and you had used the Video Roulette "trick" to get there. It was very smart of you to bet 18 on red/18 on black/1 on each green because your losses were extremely minimal and you had your 200 points almost immediately for the 2 Free Buffets. I think other players that did the same "trick" but later returned and played again did not get this great offer because they were no longer playing at $9 plus a pull.

I'm still nervous that after my stay they are going to say I didn't play enough and charge me something. I don't plan on using all $200 a day in food and beverage due to that fear. Any stories of a marketing comp offer turning bad after not meeting gambling $ expectations??? I read the fine print over and over again. I'm a chronic worrier.
