X Train will operate out of the Plaza downtown

You cant fly for cheap anymore out of SoCal to Vegas. And I stopped flying thanks to TSA.

Here's my "schedule" if I flew:

Drive to airport takes 30 minutes.
Park car and get to the terminal takes 30 minutes (used to use Wally Park at LAX though at Burbank this would take 10 minutes)
Arrive at airport one hour before flight at LAX, 30 mnutes at Burbank is safe.
Flight time 45 minutes.
Arrival at LAS takes 10 minutes with carry ons, another half hour with checked luggage.
Meet limo driver, 1 minute. Wait for taxi, 15 minutes.
Ride to casino, 20 minutes depending on traffic.
total airport trip ranges from 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours 50 minutes.

worst part of taking a plane: Im stuck by the airline's schedule.

Just a few things to consider about this x-train:

Last I heard there were quite a few earthquake faults between Vegas and LA.
What do they do during fire season?
The length of the trip would be much shorter than 3 hours considering a 200mph train.
Will AMTRAK be running the show?
They are going to replace the tracks, yes?????

there is plenty of info about the X train on the Internet that answers all of your questions except for the worry about the quake faults. I have that same fear, when Im at home, or in my car driving under an overpass, or near a high rise.

Just think about Northridge....and that cop that was on the overpass....

I drove through there about 2 months before that quake.

So whats the point? this is a fact of life for living in So Cal. We have quakes. The south and midwest have tornados. the northeast has snowstorms. the southeast has hurricanes. Hawaii is going to sink someday. are you not golng to take a train because of a possible quake? do you sleep in a house or in a tent in the park because you fear the next quake?
