Xmas in Vegas Advice

Beginning Dec. 21, will be spending a glorious (?) week at South Point. First time ever at Xmas.
Just wondering?
We will be seeing 3 shows and viewing all the "high end" hotel decorations/displays.
Also planning the dinner buffet on "Xmas eve" at the Wynn.
Any advice on "crowds" / "line-ups", etc. would be most appreciated.

Wishing all LVAers a very Merry Christmas !
(Hoping to post LOTS of VP "porn" upon my return).
I've never been to Vegas at Christmas time.
It's on my list though, ..... maybe next year .

Good Luck When You Go.

not sure if you've made reservations for shows but you can assume many of them will be dark (thats show business talk for "taking the night off"). Thats really the biggest drag about going to Vegas in December. Otherwise its a great time to go. The crowds will be lively on the strip and downtown...and less so at the off strip places. I cant speak for South Point - but I know I stayed at the Silverton one year in December and it was dead. Bellagio, Wynn, and Sams Town have nice holiday displays...and Fremont St has good concerts and a special holiday themed light show. Be sure to stop by Ellis Island for their homemade eggnog.

South Point has almost everything half-price when you pay with your club card points from 12/14 - 12/24.

The period between the National rodeo and Christmas is really, really dead for Vegas. After Christmas it gets very busy. I'm envious of your trip.
We are headed there ourselves, driving from San Diego to Vegas on Xmas eve, I'm worried about the traffic.

I'm also interested in any info about things to do during that time. We are staying at Paris with a couple nights at the Bellagio in between our "back to back" Paris offers. In the middle of all that we are flying out on Xmas day to Sacramento, to spend the holiday with family, and back on Saturday the 27th, it ought to be quite an experience, lol.

Erin, good luck with that. I would expect it to be horrible. I would mentally prepare myself for 8 hours.

PERFECT !!

(a little concerned about the Wynn buffet line-up on Xmas Eve ??)
Bellagio Conservatory is elbow to elbow after noon. Go early for maximum enjoyment of the scenery (before 10 am is best). A harpist plays for about 30 minutes I think around 4 pm, which is nice, just expect the crowds. You can tram over to Aria/City Center from Bellagio (and back). And to/from Monte Carlo, for that matter.

Buffet line at Wynn...expect 2 hours, might be less if you go later in the evening.

Have fun, regardless!

Wonderful, lol! We are leaving around 1, so hope to maybe get a little bit of a jump on it.
