Xmas in Vegas

I have been giving some thought to doing a Vegas Xmas trip this year. However, I came across an article that says that Vegas will be very crowded this year for Xmas.. Here's a link to the article:https://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/christmas-in-las-vegas.php

I always thought that Vegas is less crowded for Xmas. Does thiis article speak the truth? Why would Xmas in Vegas this year be any more crowed than other years? Is there something special going on? Thanks

I went last year and was amazed that it was so crowded. Mostly families with children. Lines were horrible etc. will not repeat that for sure.
The article predicts that Christmas day is "actually going to be very crowded on the Las Vegas Strip." Based on my experience, that is a pretty safe bet and not exactly a deviation from the recent norm.

2011 was the first Vegas Christmas I've missed in several years. It has always been my experience that the week prior, leading up to Christmas Eve, is relatively slow. There are fewer people, shorter lines, etc. The downside was always the large number of shows that go dark during this period. By December 24th, however, many more people have arrived. According to a cab driver I spoke with (who claimed to monitor license plates), the main source of the influx is California ... and I couldn't help but notice an impressive number of Europeans materializing overnight two years in a row. (Merely an observation, not a complaint.)

I have fond memories of Christmas in Vegas, but the clot of slow-moving humanity encountered at Caesars, the Venetian and other Strip properties in recent years has been daunting. Also -- there seems to be something about the holidays that prompts a large number of non-gamblers to sit around in slot and VP chairs and chat.

But ... if I can pull it off, I will go again this year.
I'm thinking of a Christmas trip to Vegas this year. We'll see how things go.

I went to Vegas over Christmas 4 years ago after my wife passed away,,, good way to let the season pass me by.

Was not busy the few days before Christmas, but started getting busy on Christmas day.... the locals came to eat as a family for lunch and dinner, then half of California drove in for the long weekend, so it was busy right after Christmas. Encore opened Christmas night and the line must of been a mile long waiting to get in.
