After listening to the video, I think you are incorrect. I think the Gentleman from Idaho was illustrating that remote medicine works when a camera can be used such as colonoscopy. It won't work for an examination of the uterus because there is no camera to substitute for an in-person examination. Now, whether or not an in-person examination is important before an abortion is another issue.

They were debating an abortion pill not an invasive procedure.

What's everyone so upset about? This is massive progress. You actually have a Republican asking an informed expert how something works ? That's not cause for ridicule - thats cause for celebration. I hold Representative Barberie in much higher regard than the typical Republican legislators that make uninformed ASSERTIONS on topics they have no knowledge about like: climate, evolution, female anatomy, hereditary homosexuality, economics, and basic American History.
