You think the Loons in Congress are bad for shutting down the government?

You ought to take a look at the Loons running the government in my State (Indiana)

Our Tea Bag Attorney General just filed suit against the Federal Government to attack Obamacare. Now it is bad enough he wants to spend taxpayer dollars on a long shot lawsuit, but where it turns really bizarre is what he is asking for. He is asking the IRS to be prohibited from sending Obamacare premium subsidy payments to Indiana residents. In other words Indiana residents would still be mandated to buy Health Insurance, but nobody in the State would get any premium assistance. He is a tea bagger that has such wood for Obama that he is willing force tens of thousands of middle class Indiana residents to pay thousands more in premiums for health insurance or to force those that already got an advance to pay thousands of dollars to the IRS.
To show you how fruity this guy is just a week or so ago he went on some local right wing talk show and advocated that every pregnant woman in the state undergo mandatory drug testing. How is that for keeping big government out of the doctor’s office?

Unfortunately, we have quite a few of these fruit cakes in our State Government. Many of you are familiar with our state Treasurer Richard AKA Rape is a gift from god Mourdock. What he was known for before making that comment was another nutty lawsuit that squandered a large amount of Indiana taxpayer dollars. He sued the Federal Government trying to halt the Chrysler bailout. Even though that was nutty on its face the math of it was even nuttier. Even if the court had ruled in his favor and gave him everything he asked for the State’s Attorneys Fees on this matter would far exceed any recovery the state would get. That didn’t even include the math of some 3,000 Indiana autoworkers being on Unemployment and other public assistance. He did it all because of a Nutty legal theory that originated on right wing talk radio and TV. Of course it got laughed out of the courtroom, but the State Taxpayers had to fund this folly and got nothing in return.

Then there was our former Education Secretary Tony Bennett who launched a crackpot scheme to replace public schools with for profit private schools. The voters in our deep red state found him to be such a crackpot that they tossed him out of office. Then it was discovered while he was in office that he cooked the books by giving the private schools with failing grades As which he justified to a staff member by saying that failing to change the bad grades for private schools would undermine the Republican approach to education in the State.

How do you think our tea party state legislature responded upon discovering such a massive fraud? Why they threw a temper tantrum. They took it out on the Democrat Education Secretary that had beat Bennett in the election. The defunded her office and created a whole new board (that the taxpayers had to pay for) to formulate educational policy for the state despite having an elected Superintendent of Public Instruction. So now we have an elected Education Secretary and staff that we pay for that no longer does anything plus this new unelected board we pay for.

The point of all of this is to never underestimate the willingness of crackpot tea partiers to make you the average citizen suffer to advance their crackpot agenda.

I am not sure Boehner can get anything through the House at this point. If I were you I would dig in for the long haul and prepare for economic collapse. Tea Partiers see it as a small price to pay.
