Keep on Rock'n

I got my first royal of 2010 Sunday at Harrahs Rincon. I would like to tell everyone that I hit the $5 DDB progressive, which was in excess of $64,000... but I didn't.

I wasn't planning on going to Rincon on Sunday, but when I called and found out the progressive was so high, I scrapped my plans to play in a poker tournament in LA, and darted down to Rincon. but I could not get a seat at the five machines linked to the progressive. Yes, the team from Reno was there, and they had been there all weekend, pumping up the jackpot and trying to hit. they hogged four of the machines, with members taking shifts playing.

this was the first time I got to see them "in action" and frankly Im a bit angry. When two of the players were low on cash, they played very, very slowly, keeping others (like me) from getting a seat.

Well, justice prevailed and a non team member got the royal late Sunday night.

So I spent my Sunday (about 11 hours) playing the $1 DDB progressive which was at about $4500 and playing 25-cent super times pay for ten hands at a time.

No, I didnt hit the $1 progressive either, but I did OK, getting quad aces once (no kicker) and quad 2s twice within five minutes, and a few other quads (hit quad nines at least three times. Early Sunday evening I hit quads 2s with a kicker for $800, and thats when I found myself up about 2-grand. So I decided to try out some of the super times pay machines right behind the DDB progressive where everyone seemed to be hitting.

I started with $100 playing 25-cent, ten handed BONUS poker. There was no DDB available on the machine I was on. Sixty coins for max bet for ten hands.

I started out very strong and quickly grew my $100 initial buy in to about $400... but then started losing till I had about $200 in the machine. Thats when I got a super times pay for 3x and was dealt three to the royal. I got the royal on the sixth line -- so its good that I was playing ten lines. that paid 3,000 plus some other small wins for a total payoff of $3,041 for all ten hands.

Sorry, no picture.

Shortly after I hit that, I went over to the high limit room where the winner of the $64K progressive was waiting for his check. He was dealt three to the royal and was quite calm about the whole thing.

On the other hand when I hit the progressive twice last year for smaller amounts -- 36K and 37K -- I was screaming like a little girl.

Oh, and when he hit the royal, the five DDB progressive machines emptied out. The team left. by the way, a couple of months ago the team also missed out on a 50K royal which was hit by a regular player.
CONGRATS MoneyLA
Your Royal is reflected in the standings above.

Thanks for the mini Royal Trip Report. That was very interesting.

Keep on Rock'n

MoneyLA, nice time to hit when the STP guy makes an appearance! Congrats.

Out of curiousity, what is the pay table on the $5 DDB progressive that was hit for $64K? I'm not interested in coming to SD to play but rather trying to understand how lucrative of a play it is to get 4-5 people to come from Reno to pound away.

Thanks,

Dan
The pay table is 9/5. curiously at Caesars in Vegas the $5 DDB pay table is also 9/5 but there is NO progressive. Other Indian casinos in the Southern Cal area also have 9/5 on their $5 DDB with NO progressives. So that makes Harrahs Rincon the place to play. Rincon also has a 9/5 paytable on the $1 DDB progressive. I think the paytable on the 25-cent DDB progressive is 8/5.

by the way, the $1 and 25-cent progressives at Rincon also have progressives on quad aces, 2s, 3s, and 4s, with and without kickers.

Last night, the lady on my right at the $1 progressive hit the quad aces with kicker for about $2300. When I hit the quad aces without kicker I got paid about 840.
MoneyLA, thanks for posting the details. I threw this into VPW and the game return is 103% but 8% of this comes from the RF. The variance is 233! LOL I think what all this means is that you either hit the royal or A's w/ kicker or you go home losing money.

Nice to see that the team was blanked. It's this kind of unwanted attention that gets reasonable games pulled.

Rick, Barb got another $1K RF today at Palms. This puts her total at 8. We did stop at HP today and get my/her LVA account in order. She's floating around the MGM right now but I'll get her to sign in and once we can confirm all is in order, we'll move her RF's to her screen name.

Here's the pic:

We're wondering when the vp gods will smile on us again with a $4K one!

The good news is that we even managed to win money today so this was the cherry on top!

Dan
I haven't posted yet, but I'll start now.

January 31: dime royal on Super Triple Play at M Resort for $400.
February 12: dollar royal on triple play BP at Silverton for $4,000.
February 13: dollar progressive royal on DDB at Excalibur for $4,965.
February 27: dollar progressive royal on BP at M Resort for $4,303.
February 28: dollar royal on JOB at Four Queens for $4,000.
Boy Mare you certainly hit a lot of royals. Going back to the Silverton on Mar 11th. Will you be there? Also on April 4-9th. Let me know!
No, Bob, I won't be back at Silverton until March 19 & 20 when Collective Soul is playing (and Grand Funk Railroad). I think right now we're set to be in Vegas April 23, but that may change.

I gotta remember about those progressives at Silverton! Last time I played mostly in high limit listening to Kendra hit on Keno all day. lol
