Keep on Rock'n

Scored number FIVE early this morning at Rincon. I wish it was on the $5 progressive, but it was hit about five minutes before I sat down at those machines. It hit for $28K. A Rincon regular got it. Good for her. I played the $5 DDB for about two hours, got a few W2s but no major wins... so I was down 2-grand.

So I went over to the super times pay machines, playing ten hands at the 25-cent level. Held the ace of clubs and on the tenth line, the absolute last line, I drew the other four cards for a royal. that thousand dollars covered half my earlier losses.

Ironically, on the very next play, I was dealt four to the royal... and on the draw... didnt even get one paying pair. Imagine-- hold one card and one out of ten hands is a royal. But hold four to the royal and on ten hands absolutely nothing.

I took a photo using my "Flip" video camera which was in my jacket pocket (always wear a jacket there because its always cold-- or Im just too old) and hopefully Slapinfunk will be able to get it online.
Good job Money and Rizzo!

It didn't take long for Team FedO'Malley to get back on to the RF bandwagon.

After being out of Vegas for a week, we arrrived back on Thursday night. We started playing on Friday morning with me (fedomalley) getting the first one of the day at Ellis Island on a quarter 10 play DDB Quick Quads machine for $1K. Unfortunately, we gave most of that win back but still walked away a winner and got the requisite number of points on to keep the mailman employed.

Our last session of the day was at Silverton as we near the homestretch of their July promotion and we needed to get the last of our respective points on.

Once again, I had the first RF in nickels on the BP 100 plays. Barb (dansbetterhalf) must have felt me closing in on her totals as she responded to one about five minutes later.

Mine

Barb's

I did manage to get another one last night making my tally 3 for the day.

Barb on the other hand was relentless. She hit 3 on a 4 to a RF hand and then an off the statistical charts 7 on another 4 to a RF deal.

So, here's the figures...

Dan (fedomalley)= 3 RF's. YTD= 32
Barb (dansbetterhalf)= 11 RF's. YTD= 45

I have pics of all on my phone but I need to get them to photobucket and I'm trying to figure out which is which. I'll edit them in today/tomorrow as a pic is worth a thousand words.

EDITED TO ADD PICS

Got a royal Thursday night in Windsor Canada...WOOOOHOOO!!!!!!

$1,000...after exchange $900.00 american and $71 canadian

Been quite a while - finally got royal #10 for 2010 last night at St. Croix Casino in Turtle Lake, WI. I had earlier been dealt 4 to the royal playing both 3 and 5 play - no luck. Finally - nearing the end of my session I held a JQ and up popped the other 3 hearts! Nice boost for the Vegas fund - heading back there in 3 weeks.

Hi Rick,

I just remembered that I had a RF on Thursday night at M Resort. Needed to run a quick $6K through for a $50 gas certificate and was playing .25 50 play BP. Got dealt 4 to a RF and picked one up which is statistically correct. The difference is this game between 4 to a RF and a dealt one is $50K. I'm not complaining but I am overdue for a dealt royal.

This should bring the total for fedomalley to 33.

Thanks,

Dan
Im curious. You had to run $6K through to get a $50 gas certificate. You chose bonus poker. What were the odds that either you or the casino would come out ahead on this one? Obviously your royal was worth by itself $1,000. But what about the rest of the play vs the value of the certificate? Im no good at math so I can't figure it out. But generally my feeling is I wouldnt do that. Thanks

And with all the VP you play you are overdue for a dealt royal. A dealt royal comes about once in 629,740 plays. Actually if you are trying for a dealt royal it would be cheaper for you to play single lines. Because on a 50-play or 100-play machine it only counts as "one play" in the statistics of 1 out of 629,740. You are literally paying "more" to get that one in 629,740 miracle.

Ive had that miracle twice in my life. A dealt royal on a 50 play nickel machine when Mandalay was only open a few months ($10K), and then last year on the $5 progressive at Rincon (about $37K).
Money, here's the rationale from my perspective. I'm playing at M not for the inherent return and cash back but for the monthly mailer as well. So, I'd arguably be playing anyway at some point this month.

BP has a 99.17% return and M has a .3% CB rate. So, call this 99.47%. Multiply $6K by this percentage and the play costs you $31.80 to make $50 in gas. This is a net $18.20 win for 10 minutes work. So, for me, given the fact that it also goes towards my monthly coin in for mailers, makes it worthwhile.

We live next to SP so it's a 3 mile jaunt down the road. Not sure I'd venture down there from Summerlin or points beyond but given the proximity and mailers, it's an ok play for us.

I realize that all of the above numbers are theoretical and your actual results WILL vary. I know that in such a short term, the variance will be quite high.

I'm vaguely aware of the odds on a dealt RF.....I remember it as it's statistically close to dying in a plane crash and I know how my luck runs. LOL

I've had one on $1 3 play at SP a few years back for $12K

To be clear, I'm not playing the 50 play because I believe I'm due a dealt RF.....I simply don't want to invest a lot of time playing single line at M to get my necessary coin in to keep the mailers coming. I'm simply hoping that when the blessed day happens once again, it'll be while I'm on a multi line machine....the higher the denom and number of lines, the better

Switching gears ever so slightly, I did manage to get another two (2) RF's today...both a Ellis Island on the same machine playing .25 10 line DDB Quick Quads. I have the pics on my phone but need to do the necessary transfers and will edit them in this post.

If my math is correct Rick, that should put me at 35 YTD.

Thanks,

Dan
