Your BEST memories on your FIRST trip to Sin City??

My first trip came when myself and two buddies from Phoenix drove up on a Sat. morning in 1985, I remember we wanted to eat at the famous CircusCircus buffet, we had no room booked for that night and had a pact between the 3 of us that if anyone won enough money on a " machine " that person would spring for the room, afterall we were young and could stay up all night if needed before driving back to Phoenix. We entered CC and Ron put 3 quarters in a slot machine and hit $250.00 we ate and checked into the Dunes " I believe " it was round and cylinder in shape overlooking the strip, I'm thinking it was about $60.00 and we had a very nice upper floor room, I think it even had a balcony. Anyway's on the drive home the next day I specifically remember pulling into a gas station like a 7-11 or Circle K and a sign on the door stating we accept all credit cards, we filled up with gas and Dave gave the clerk " must have been new " a Sears credit card and he put it on the old hand held reader, slid the handle over the card, gave him the carbon copy receipt and said thanks and have a nice day.
My first trip we were getting married. Let my now brother in law talk us into going to Vegas for it. 60 people. Planned the entire event online, even though we had never been. My mother was afraid the marriage wouldn't be legal! Had a traditional ceremony at the Flamingo. It'll be our 10 year anniversary in September. Been out twice-three times a year since and everyone in the family is still talking about the adventure. My husband has five siblings and everyone came including all of our nieces and nephews.
stayed at excalibur on their 2nd anniversary year for two nights at $35 per night. drank heinekens playing keno first night. went to the hoover dam for the full tour before 9-11. golfed on a course somewhere on the way back.

tried by play bj by myself for ten minutes and lost $100. I think I brought $300 for the trip.

Laid by the Excal pool in our jean shorts for 20 minutes in 99 degree weather.

fred my roomy bought me the Bally's sunday buffet because he didn't lose and I didn't
have any money. It might have been $50 back then. I don't remember.

hooked ever since.

My first trip was when I won a contest selling mutual funds. Needed $250,000 to qualify. We had a chartered jet that stopped at the airport next to MaCarren. Forget the name. Buses picked us up. It was a Thursday night. First we had a dinner show....remember those guys?....at the Stardust...Lido de Paris. First topless show I ever saw. I think I only brought $400 with me. When we go back to the hotel....Caesers...we played $1 BJ.

Next night we had another dinner show at the Sands, and there were two performers. Diane Carroll was the second performer and we walked out on her. Forget who the other performer was that night. So we go to the casino, and I watched a woman who was a regular at the dice table, throw down a nickel on boxcars (12) and it it right on the money. She picked up her winnings and the the dealers a toke and said she was going to dinner. When she left, we heard a lot of noise at a dice table. Seems like two New York guys were up plenty of money and the table was going nuts. Heard the next day they had won over $100,000.

Saturday night was our dinner show at Caesers and I had my first Caesers salad made right at the table. It was great, but I never thought I'd ever eat anything made with a raw egg and anchovies. The headliner that night was Andy Williams. During the day, we went to the pool and Sonny and Cher were there just after Cher had Chastity. You could see her scar from the childbirth(incision). Joining them were the Fifth Dimension who stopped by to say hello.

Across the street at the Flamingo, Tom Jones was appearing and some of the guys wives were dying to see him in person. When a few guys went across the street to see if they could "bribe" the maitre de to get them seats. They offered him $100...which was a lot back then...to get them seats. His classic comment was, " One hundred dollars will get you a seat on the chandelier!"

Ate breakfast the next day in the coffee shop and was right next to Claudine Longet, Williams wife. She was with their kids.

I remember looking out our window, which faced the strip, and saying, "They just can't build any more on the strip, there's no more room!" Where Bally's now sits, there was a casino called Bonanza where they had real cowboy swinging gates when you entered. The dealers all wore string ties.

I wasn't awake to witness the event, but supposedly Frank Sinatra came walking through the casino

It was one of my most memorable trips to Vegas.

My boyfriend took me to LV for my 21st in 1989. I remember driving from the south and seeing all the glittering lights and trying to fix my makeup before anyone saw me! We actually stayed at CC which looked pretty at night but sad during the day. I remember looking thru our window at the Startdust at night and thinking it looked beatuful with all that neon. When I woke up in the am, I was shocked at how bright it was outside and how bleached and dusty everything looked. I couldn't believe how hot it was (August) when we walked to the Stardust buffet for bkfst (my 1st buffet ever and it was actually decent.) Had lots of fun but didn't return until 2005 when my mom suggested a vacation trip. Of course, it's all her fault I'm hooked!!!
First trip we stumbled upon the Sunspots at the Plaza. Awesome. I wish they were still playing.
I was a "late starter" and my first memory... and it was a good one... was going to Vegas with my first Los Angeles girlfriend who was a hot blonde model. we were strolling on the Strip (I didnt know how to play craps or VP back then so I was in my "strip strolling stage") and standing at the corner of the Strip and Flamingo (no pedestrian bridges back then) waiting for the light.

A car full of young guys were stopped at the light... all eyes on my lady.... long blonde hair flowing to her shoulders, knock out figure, fantastic cheeck bones and lips, blue eyes... (yes slapinfunk, her)

as the light changed the car with the guys slowly passed us on the corner and with the guys all staring one of them yelled out... "nice hooker!"

I smiled with such pride and laughed as she turned bright red with embarrassment.
My first trip was September 2001.
First impressions were that Vegas wasn't nearly as built up as I expected and that Excaliber looked like a giant Fisher- Price Playset.
Stayed downtown and was very impressed by the Fremont St light Show. Ate dinner at Binions Steakhouse and loved the view.
By far the best impression after a week was that card counting worked much better on the single and double deck games in Vegas than the eight decks used in AC.
My first visit was in July, 2004. Two night stay at the LV Hilton. My primary reason for the visit was to see the Star Trek: The Experience attraction. I used a package deal the Hilton offered that included the room, tickets to the attraction and a couple of meals at Quark's bar. Did a little gambling while there. This was my first time in a casino, so I didn't know much about things worked. Played a few slots using the coin cups, took a lot of pics and video of the Star Trek setup (where I could, no cameras allowed on the 2 ride portions). Didn't know about players clubs or comps.

This visit was part of a 2 week driving vacation out west from Ohio. The day I arrived in Vegas, I was waiting at the light to turn left into the Hilton's parking lot, I hear someone goose a well tuned, high revving motor. I looked to my right and see a silver Ferrari convertible. Instant lust! That thing looked and sounded sweet when the driver nailed it pulling away from the light. Unfortunately, my camera was out of reach.

That trip was the only time I have ever payed for a room in Vegas.

I encountered TITOs for the first time on my second trip the next year at the Luxor. I was better informed on that trip and joined their players club. Have had all rooms and all but maybe 2 or 3 meals covered since. And have only payed for 1 of the 5 or 6 shows I have seen.
Seeing the lights as we landed. It still thrills me and we've been visiting Vegas twice a year since 1988. You would think that thrill would be gone by now.
