Your royal flush DROUGHT... how long has it been?

I havent had one for weeks... and I am sick of it...
Got a RF on my first day during my first trip to Vegas @ slots are fun in 1988. Had no idea what I was doing and all of a sudden the lights start flashing. Since it was during the day of coins and hand pays I soon discovered how many new "friends" I had in Vegas.

Went about 12 years before the next one
It's now been 59,362 hands without a royal... and perhaps a few thousand more based on my tier score because some of the points came from playing smaller denomination machines.
Believe it was April of 2008 or 2009---FPDW at Red Rock---had a few before then, and been dry every since---3 at MSS, 2 at Orleans---too much time at blackjack and not enough time at VP---this will change---

I hit my one and only RF at the Gold Coast around 1995 or 96. Haven't had one since.
I mostly play live poker but do hit the VP machines each trip.
I play for around 8-10 hours each trip so multiply that out with 2 trips a year and you figure out the number of hands.
Too depressing for me. Have been getting lucky lately with frequent 4 As.
So Friday afternoon, Im at the casino walking to the VP section where I meet a friend. Ive known him for years, and he tells me its his first casino visit in almost one year. As we walk together to the VP section I tell him about my royal flush drought (which is now over 60-thou + hands). When we reach the machines he put in one $100 bill and on the very first play hits a royal. Unbelievable.

My shocker of the day: I had four to the royal four times. But what hurt was when I was dealt Jd 10d and Jc and two small inconsequential cards.
I am playing Bonus and I hold the pair of jacks. On the draw come the Qd Kd Ad. This is not the first time something like this has happened, but it still hurts plenty to see it.
A royal on the first draw, now that is lucky. I would do the Rob Singer and head home immediately thereafter.
I've never hit a (natural) royal flush. I'm STILL waiting to lose my non-royal flush virginity.

I've played 59 different days so far this year....some for extended periods and others to just pop in and play off free play. YTD, I've hit 22 RF's. Some have been multiple ones on the say day but I guess it averages to slightly better than one every third day.

I know some people can't believe how often some of us get RF's but it's obviously also a function of how much you play. Coveresely, I'd go crazy if I went a few months at my current pace of play without hitting one. It's amazing how jaded one becomes when you've hit a few and are now "expecting" another one soon.

I know I'm not going to get a lot of sympathy but my last $1 RF was March 2010.

I did however hit a royal both yesterday and Monday in quarters so I'm not complaining.

If it wasn't for multi-line machines, I'm not sure if I'd ever hit one!

I spit my coffee out when I read this statement. Why would you only have played 59 days? You Sir, should never leave the casino.
And you have the balls to talk about Singer. Laughable.

Rob, glad to see you're back! You just can't keep it in, can you?

There's a difference Rob....you talk about making hundreds of thousands of dollars and then retiring. Why? Was it too much work to roll into a casino for a dozen hours a year and make tens of thousands of dollars?

I explained to Money in a different post when asked that it seems that I'm hitting a RF every 42K or so hands....about in line with the statistical average. I also didn't claim I'm getting rich at doing this....it's not a full time job or any kind of job for that matter.

Please go away again....it was very civilized without you being here. Why don't you take up a new hobby like seeing a shrink to deal with your issues?
