Dave, We are in the middle of building out the forums. Right now there are only 3 categories but will soon have many more.
What are the chance of having the staff do a FRESH review of all the Buffets? Strip. Downtown, and Local? Just got home from a 12 day trip and found many of the "better" buffets in much lower standing now... Spice Market, for instance, is now 1/2 the size it was, and bluntly said they would not allow us to use our Las Vegas Advisor coupon. Most of the MGM family have switched over to that all in one soda machine. (Including the Bellagio) Personally, the coke versions of that machine just taste wrong to us, but the Pepsi all in ones, at two other places were fine. I don't agree with their use at a high end buffet though. (Didn't see one at the Bacchanal) Buffet staff at ALL the MGM sites we went to were very well hidden. Even at Bellagio where we ate 3 times we NEVER had anyone come over to remove plates.... (We spoke to management 3 times, and no change while we were there) I notices Harrah's and the Rio Buffets were much better this year. They had been getting pretty bad. Stations and Boyd properties were all staffed well, and food was good for the price. Hence the request for a fresh look by staff... I stayed at Harrah's, Main ST, Bellagio, and The Palms. I would have skipped the palms, if I knew 2/3 of their machines were gone due to reconstruction. I saw mention here, of the buffet being redone, but must have missed the construction memo. (Same thing was going on at Palace Station, but the buffet was open) Maybe you guys could add a small section to the newsletter, each month listing reconstruction of rooms, buffets, casino floor, etc... It's be a big factor in where I chose to stay.. TY
What you are asking is best value for the $$ Buffets. In order of pricing: #3: The Fremont. Cheap and OK.(Try the steak night) #2: The MSS. Better choices.(Lunch is a far better value) #1: Golden Nugget.Smaller, but well cared for.(The bread pudding is the BOMB!) I'm a downtown guy. It's been too long to give a rating for the Sam's Town buffet. The $40-60 buffets are way more than I can eat,by far.
They may be back......... The hard working staff has promised some changes to this forum. I don't miss the political stuff ,but I do miss some of the members that have pushed this forum aside. You are one,PJ is another. I will be lurking in the meanwhile.`
