My best Las Vegas memories are from the first few when I didn't know jack, nothing about comps, ratings, how one should play, etc. We'd been told to charge everything to the room, but only that it made things easier at check out. My husband had seen/heard people getting their charges written off at end of stay, so he goaded me into going into this little office where a gentleman sat at desk with computer. I had rehearsed..."I was wondering if I qualify to have any of our charges taken off." He typed a bit and said "Yes, we will take care of all these. Thanks for staying with us and come back soon."
I promise, the total was probably $80 or so (the room was an up front mailer comp), maybe not that much, but to me this was an amazing thing!
After that came the players card levels, etc., what I could get, what others were getting, the slowly escalating greed on my part.
More fun when I didn't know much. Kind of like marriage, in a way. LOL.
