Message boards

I'm back--Let me make myself perfectly clear--- I don't expect an answer from Anthony , but if I get one , I am sure it will be some P.C. claptrap , like : " Give it some time--you will learn to like it , yada, yada , yada " . That is mendacious , disingenuous , supercilious BS . Anthony seems to be pushing all his products to make money , but it is going to backfire on him . BRING BACK THE MESSAGE BOARDS !
These ARE the message boards. Yada, yada, yada.
I look at this as a shakedown cruise. Give them some time to get the bugs out. Its all of two days old. I'm not thrilled with the site myself, can't get much of it to work on my Kindle, but stating just what you don't like and offering suggestions will accomplish much more than calling people liars.
Well , excuse me Mr. Curtis--Let me rephrase my statement : " Where are the OLD message boards ?" And I think I called the shot on your yada , yada , yada . That is a pretty vacuous reply for someone of your stature . And you have to admit that this new website seems to be pushing all the product you have for sale . Every page has " SHOP LVA " in large , colorful letters with a shopping cart next to it . The OLD message boards were a great way to converse with other vegasites--such as " trip reports ' , " downtown " , ' gambling ' , etc . I would spend hours reading all the info , and now I don't even enjoy this site . I certainly hope you get it straightened out soon .

I don't think you understand what's happening here. Of course you see shopping carts -- you are in the store. Click the Las Vegas Advisor banner at the top of the page to go to the home page of the new website. We understand there are problems, but they were also anticipated and we're working on them as quickly as we can. Following is a post we put up on the old boards last week prior to the switch, which addresses the MBs specifically. We are a few days away from launching the redeveloped LasVegasAdvisor.com. The original plan was to eliminate the message boards completely, as the new website allows comments in all areas. But late in the process we decided against that and the new site will have message boards. The late decision, however, required us to make some significant changes. 1. The only way to put the boards on the new site on short notice was to locate them in ShopLVA. This will be temporary and shouldn't greatly affect the user experience. 2. There will be only three categories to start. You can start as many topics as you like, but they will all be in the same spot. 3. For now, at least, there will be no member-only boards; all categories on the boards will be open to all. 4. We will not be migrating content from the current board. Hopefully, we will be able to archive these posts so they will be accessible to read, but that's not a given. So you should make files of the information you want to keep.

Okee-dokiee, can't get my mail removed no matter what. I see a slow a death here. I understand it's a rollout but WOW, this is pretty bad. I'm almost thinking the zoho disaster may have been better. It reminds me of going to a cracker barrel where you have to stroll through all their candles, cookies and crap to be able to eat and when they finally call your name when a table's ready, instead of seating you, the hostess informs you one is open in there somewhere, GOOD LUCK and ENJOY! Not having the forums means it's not much of a community any longer but a store with a comment section. I really do hope it improves.
It is a store. It's temporary. That's explained above. Maybe reading this post in the new Vegas With an Edge blog will clarify more.
Maybe we can get back to more Vegas related topics than all these crazy political posts.
