i'm new at craps. may i ask a question on the minimum at craps table. If the minimum is $10 and i place $12 on 6 and $12 on 8 then hit one of my numbers can i reduce my 6 & 8 bet down to $6 each and still satisfy the minimum? or do i have to keep each of my place bets above $10 each?

The only bets on the crap table where the posted limits don't apply are proposition bets, such as eleven, hard eight, etc. (You can usually bet as little as a dollar on those.) So no, you won't be allowed to make a $6 place bet at a $10 minimum table. That includes reducing an existing bet below the table minimum.

What Kevin said....although if you want to tip the dealers with a bet they will allow those to go under the minimums.
If you are new to craps the Jokers WIld out in Henderson has $1 minimums which is a great way to learn startegy without betting a fortune. I think their table games are closed now but hopefulyl will be open soon.
