Vegas in July?

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone tell me why (this year) flight to Vegas (from Europe) are so expensive? Is there some big Convention/Event on? I always thought it was cheaper to get there in the summer months as it was so ridiculously hot.

Manybe some regular travellers from Europe could shed some light on it?

Thanks in advance

That used to be the case, that midsummer, particularly August, was a slow time in Vegas and bargains could be had. But now, there's so much demand--people are on vacation and such--that it's busy all summer. And because airlines are also shuttling people all over the place, to actual vacation spots where rational people go in the height of summer, they don't need to offer cheap flights and their entire fleets are at maximum capacity.

You might be able to find reasonable-ish fares if you take some Cheapo Air carrier like Virgin Atlantic to a major US hub and then take a bargain US domestic carrier the rest of the way.

Not only from Europe I mentioned before big hikes from California

I use miles Sucked ''em up Plus changed my flight times to

Inconvenient times Still few months to go So may change again

Jerry, I'm not sure what makes you do this over and over in response to every one of Patricia's posts, but it's a violation of forum rules.

It's also a mean, nasty shit thing to do. Especially repeatedly.

What specifically is the violation that breaks the rules?

I pretty much knew that would be your response, and you mist be one of those people who thinks that "You too! You too!" is a defense to anything. Well, I can't force you to modify your behavior, but at some point, responding "oh boy" to every one of Patricia's posts gets kinda old, don't you think? Whatever point you were trying to make, you've made it.

Patricia sounds like a very nice person.  Were she to ask "What's the problem, people?", I would offer that in general, using good paragraph structure, including punctuation, clarifies whatever the writer is attempting to say, helps avoid misunderstandings.  Comma keys and Period keys are our friends.

"Eats Roots and Leaves" is a classic example.

That's all.
