Vegas in July?

Patricia sounds like a very nice person.  Were she to ask "What's the problem, people?", I would offer that in general, using good paragraph structure, including punctuation, clarifies whatever the writer is attempting to say, helps avoid misunderstandings.  Comma keys and Period keys are our friends.

"Eats Roots and Leaves" is a classic example.

That's all.

Wasn't that "Eats, Shoots, and Leaves"? (Picky moi.) GREAT book!

I fully admit that when I rag on someone about their grammar, punctuation, etc., it's selective. A nice person, I won't bother to correct them. An asshole, I'll point out every error they make--especially if they're trying to claim they know everything about some political issue, like Taylor Swift's plot to fix the Super Bowl.

Can she write 3 words without making one?

It is possible that English is not Patricia's first language.

I stand corrected on that book title, Kevin.  Shoots, not Roots.  Except...wasn't it without the commas?  I dunno.  I never read the book.

Heh, I was wondering that very thing, since the title was lampooning someone who had written something about pandas but put in superfluous commas. The book is chock full of such booboos, and not always to laugh at them but to point out how punctuation errors can lead to serious misunderstandings, including a death sentence in Britain in the 19th century. The author, Lynne Truus (sp?) says that's why she's a "stickler," because that's not just being persnickety; it's being precise.

Should she be subjected to the judgment of the Almighty Grand High Poobah Jerry if she can't?

I concur, David; that's what it looks like to me, actually.

Patricia - this is a place to discuss Vegas. Go ahead and post your questions and comments. There is not a person who has posted in the forums who hasn't made mistakes in grammer and/or punctuation. No one is perfect.
