Circa Resort & Casino
Downtown
Circa is the first hotel-casino to be built from scratch in downtown Las Vegas since 1980 (when the Sundance opened; it was later called Fitzgeralds and is now the D, coincidentally owned by the same team that owns and operates Circa). It occupies the former sites of the Las Vegas Club, Mermaids, and the Girls of Glitter Gulch strip club. The casino, sportsbook, some restaurants and bars, and the pool, called Stadium Swim, opened in October 2020; the rooms and the rest of the property followed in December, both during the depths of the pandemic.
Circa features an 8,000-square-foot two-level casino, a 35-story 512-room tower, and a nine-story 1,000-space parking garage dubbed "Garage Mahal." Its five restaurants include a Barry Dakake steakhouse and Michigan-based Saginaw Deli, which serves the shrimp cocktail made famous by the across-the-street Golden Gate; one of its six bars and lounges, the Legacy Club, is way up on the rooftop 350 feet above Fremont Street. The six-tiered pool area boasts a 143-foot screen made of 14 million megapixels, a DJ booth, two swim-up bars, and space for 4,000 guests; the six pools are heated and open year-round.
But perhaps Circa's main claim to fame is its three-story stadium-style sportsbook, reputedly the largest in the world (vying for that honor with the Westgate's Superbook), with seating for 1,000. It's operated by Circa's own brand, Circa Sports, and hosts a recording studio for Vegas Stats & Information Network (VSiN), a popular local sports betting radio network.
