Hoover Dam Lodge, the former Hacienda and before that the Gold Strike Hotel-Casino, is located three miles from Hoover Dam and overlooks Lake Mead. The hotel rooms have been equipped with 50-inch HD TVs (some of the largest in Vegas), as well as a microwave, fridge, free wifi, and complimentary snack basket. On-site amenities include a steakhouse and cafe, a large general store, seasonal outdoor pool, and slots-only casino. Visitors are within steps of the historic Six Companies Railroad Tunnel, through which supplies for the dam were shuttled from the main line in Las Vegas in the early 1930s, and in striking distance of innumerable forms of outdoor recreation, from kayaking to ziplining.
