A half-hour drive from the Strip, this scenically located hotel offers respite from the searing summer heat in the valley, with easy access to Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort in the winter. (Drivers: Be aware that there are no gas stations in Kyle Canyon.) Standard in-room amenities include pillow-top mattresses, free wifi (speeds can be slow due to the remote location), iPod docking stations, and flat-screen TVs; upgraded rooms and suites offer extras like a DVD player, a balcony, and/or a fireplace. Pets are welcome for an additional fee. Video poker and billiards are available in the bar; the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and there’s a general store on-property.

Cool Respite

It's a very old property.  The only thing going for them is the cooler weather than down in the valley.  If you do go, be prepared to dodge massive amounts of duck crap.  If you slip and fall in it, you'll have to throw your clothes away.  The rooms were clean, the floors, maybe not.  Carpets in public areas filthy, and repaired with tape.  The views are great, and there is a lot of antique stuff decorating the open areas.  We were unfortunate enough to have the power go out, and there was NO light in the hallways.  The exit doors all closed automatically when the power goes out.  That situation was a real hazard.
