Pet Friendly Hotels

Partly due to health-code restrictions involving food and beverage and partly because Las Vegas is probably even less suitable for pets than it is for kids, in the past, very few hotel-casinos allowed furry or feathered guests.

Times have changed, and below you'll find a list of hotels that accept four-legged friends -- for a fee, of course, and often with some restrictions, so read the small print before you load up that pet tiger.

If you're committed to a non-pet-friendly hotel, but get let down at the last second by your dog- or cat-sitter, check out the America Dog & Cat Hotel, located at 2900 E. Patrick Lane (behind McCarran Airport), 702-795-DOGS (3647), which provides daycare and overnight lodging in private free-range suites equipped with color TVs and 24-hour supervision (bring proof of vaccinations, but be careful with Grupons). Visit www.doghotel.net.

Similarly, Doggie Oasis, 2924 Lake East Drive, 702-734-DOGS (3647), offers daycare, plus overnight and extended-care services, and is equipped with 24-hour webcams; its online reviews are excellent. Visit www.doggieoasis.com for more information and rates.
