Analysis

With its sandy beaches, wave machine, lazy river, poolside casino, and concert series, it's no great surprise that Mandalay Beach was the clear winner in this poll. Interestingly, however, the Flamingo held onto the #2 spot for a long while, before being passed by the Tropicana. They both have a lot to offer -- for details of all their amenities, check out our unique Cool Pools feature, where we're profiling the best of Las Vegas's pools all summer long, with photo galleries, reviews, event listings, and reader comments (feel free to add your own and upload your poolside party pics!)

Here's some of the excellent feedback we received on how you picked your favorite pool:

  • "I like Like both the Lagoon and GO areas [at the Flamingo]. The Lagoon area can be crowded but fun, the GO area much more secluded and peaceful. Beautiful surroundings. Can walk around and enjoy the fish and birds; feels so away from the Strip, like being in another world. Great poolside service."
  • "Main pool at Caesars. OH YEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
  • "The Rio. Several pools to pick from. Plus, you can place your lounge chair wherever you want, instead of them being placed touching each other where you have to climb on from the bottom. Not easy when you're a senior."
  • "By far the best pool is Bellagio – absolutely luxurious and utterly relaxing."
  • "My pick for the best pool is the Mirage main pool. My husband and I have been staying at the Mirage for years and one of the reasons we stay there is because of the great pool. We have checked out other hotel pools and there is no comparison to the Mirage’s pool. The Mirage’s pool has a great tropical feel with all of the beautiful palm trees and foliage, where other pools are surrounded by concrete. The pool is crowed at times, but that is because it is so nice. The Mirage serves great drinks out by the pool too!"
  • "The Hard Rock. My god, isn't it obvious? It's as close to Hef's mansion as a regular joe like me will ever get."
  • "The Golden Nugget pool because the sharks and the lounge area."
  • "The Hard Rock pool. It’s got the best beach, babes, and booze! What more do you need?"
  • "I picked the MGM Grand because it has just about everything you could ask for in a pool complex. MGM's area has sunny/shady spots, cabanas, bars, shops, lockers, a lazy river, 5 pools, and 3 waterfalls. There's always at least one pool open. BYO sunscreen."
  • "We loved the lazy river pool at the Monte Carlo and at Mandalay Bay. It's the most relaxing water experience. But, we were more comfortable at the Monte Carlo since we are middle aged and Mandalay Bay seems to have more kids and young adults."
  • "Red Rock of course! I love it there!"
  • "I picked the Tropicana pool. It is 5-7 acres of relaxing space, which includes a waterfall and a slide. While it’s not as fancy as the wave pool at Mandalay, it is much more easily accessible and it’s friendly. It has swim-up blackjack on occasion. It’s the easy access and décor that appeals to me."
  • "I picked Las Vegas Hilton for its easy but secure access with lots of space. I enjoy the happy hour and entertainment without being crowded. Staff are very friendly. Just a nice place to unwind."
