| I’d like to split my year between Vegas and somewhere less crazy and not so hot in the summer -- I could live there half the year, but not full-time. |
|
| I love Las Vegas, but as an escape from my normal life. It would spoil it to live there. |
|
| I would love to move to Las Vegas, primarily for the weather. I hope to retire there. |
|
| I’d like to have a holiday getaway in Vegas for short breaks, but never a permanent home. |
|
| I love visiting Las Vegas, but only in small doses; I can’t take it seriously as a city and I think I’d grow to hate it if I lived there all the time. |
|
| I would love to live in Las Vegas but am afraid I’d develop too many bad habits if I spent too much time there. |
|
| I already live in Las Vegas and love it. |
|
| I’d have loved to live in Vegas in the past, but not these days with the traffic, the drunkenness, the violence, the sleaze factor, etc. |

Analysis
This was an interesting one. The usual thanks to all who took part. Here's some of your specific feedback:,br>
- "I chose other because I would absolutely love to move to Vegas. It would be a dream come true."
- "I live in Wisconsin so I had to vote for "I would love to move to Las Vegas, primarily for the weather. I hope to retire there." It was an easy decision especially after the 6" of new snow that fell today and I look on the Las Vegas Advisor and see it's 70 degrees in Las Vegas."
- "I did live in LV for about 6 months in 2004. I rented a condo in Summerlin and refused to buy into the rapidly rising housing bubble. I expanded my search area to include Bullhead City, AZ where I bought a 3-year-old house for half of what it would have cost in LV. Laughlin is 10 minutes away and the Strip is less than 100 highway miles, so I go to LV whenever the urge strikes and make very good use of my LVA MRB." [Ed: We're glad to hear it!"]
- "I might consider retiring in a suburb of Las Vegas but not in the city itself, for one simple reason: bad air quality. The layer of smog covering the city can be seen easily on a sunny day from a short distance outside the city, and I believe constant exposure to pollutants contributes greatly to decreased immunity and shorter lifespan. So unless the air quality improves greatly, Las Vegas isn't on my 'ideal cities in which to live' list."

- "Not! Too much smoke. Burns my eyes, sinuses, and throat."
- "I selected 'other' - basically I'd love to live in Vegas, I don't think it would be a problem gambling-wise, and hey, everyone would have a reason to come visit. My wife, however, hates gambling and isn't a big fan of Vegas. Plus, she is a college professor and the odds of getting a decent job in the current academic climate are less then zero, especially in Nevada. Therefore, it's not happening."
- "While I’d love to live in Vegas, it really isn’t somewhere I’d want to raise a family, leading to my choice of 'someday I’d like to split time between Vegas and somewhere less crazy.'"
- "I'd love to live in Vegas because of the variety of entertainment choices, dining, and nature oppurtunities. I love the desert and southeastern Nevada is a great place from which to explore the desert southwest. With the recent downturn in home values Vegas is now affordable for me."
- "Much as I love going there and almost purchased a place, the future holds serious problems: lack of water, soaring energy and food prices…even state taxes!"
- "Spent several years in Las Vegas and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes, there's the weather and the traffic and the Strip, things to be dealt with and/or avoided if possible. But overall, we would do it again in a heartbeat and hope that life's circumstances may yet give us that opportunity."
- "We have a condo in Las Vegas and we love it part time. I'm afraid if we stayed longer than our two weeks at a time it would lose it's bling for us. We visit four or five times a year."
- "If I lived in Vegas, where would I go on vacation?"
