Analysis

Thanks for all the feedback. Kiss, Queen, and Don MacLean were the top picks for Fremont Street Experience shows. Here were some of your other likes:

  • ”I chose ‘Other,’ as well as the street performers. We always make it downtown for at least one day to use our MRB coupons. The Zipline and the various street performers, some of who are actually pretty funny, make the place seem more alive and fun to walk around. I also enjoy the different neon exhibits. The new clubs and little bars that are springing up make the whole visit worth it. I also found a great little cigar shop on the way to the El Cortez. If you visit Vegas without going downtown, you're missing alot!”

  • ”Happy Hour at the El Cortez. BOGO on fancy martinis: $7.50, for two.”

  • ”Our favorite thing downtown has to be the brews at 777 Brewery! Great beer with a great price!

  • We come to Vegas 3-4 times a year and always go to Mermaids for fried Twinkies, real-money machines, but mostly for the BIG hot dogs.”

  • ”We always go to Main Street Station for the breakfast buffet. The food is good and the price is very reasonable. The best is the omelet guy, Manuel. He is a show unto himself! Highly recommended!”

  • ”This might be too broad of an answer for what I like to do best downtown, but I really enjoy the ability to move from one casino to another to play without a mile hike. I stay at the Plaza for March Madness but couldn't this year due to the renovation. This year I stayed at Bill's on the Strip, but walking to another casino to find a less packed table took forever. I'm in good shape and have no problem walking, it's more the waste of time.”

  • ”I said other because I love watching the people downtown. The one thing about Las Vegas that I think is different from other towns is the people. It doesn't matter if you're on the Strip or downtown, people watching is an entertainment in itself -- although watching the people downtown is a bit more interesting than on the Strip!”

  • ”Dunkin Donuts from Fremont Casino with a beer.”

  • ”My girlfriends and I always meet up at the Vue Bar (Fitz) to get some beers and people watch for about an hour before we move on to Hogs & Heifers or The Griffin.”

  • ”I like most of the items listed and it is the attraction of all of them combined that draws me downtown at least once per visit to Vegas. It is the cheaper drinks, cheaper gambling, cheaper eats, casinos right on the street, outside entertainment, everything close, etc. I guess it is the " older Vegas" vibe that we enjoy the most! “

  • ”Why do I have to choose a favorite? It is the sum of all those parts that make Downtown such a great place, and that is why I prefer to stay there than on the Strip.”

  • ”Sex on the Beach drinks in giant plastic football glasses. Life is good!”

  • ”How timely this poll was. We'll be in Vegas next Monday and we always go downtown. We were wondering what new (and old) attractions were there. If we didn't know before, the poll choices give us a great list. Thanks, you guys are Aces!
