Analysis
This was a great result on lots of levels. We’re delighted to see so many people actively using our Member Rewards Book and other discounts and take gratification in having trained our readers well – looks like you’re all over the coupon scene! Here are some of the other money-saving sources you recommend:
- ”Las Vegas Premium Outlets VIP shopping coupons can sometimes have some good coupons so I look at the site before I go. It is not gambling, but shopping is fun too.”
- ”In the good old days, we would always be sure to go the Visitor’s Center in Jean (and later Primm). Coupons for free danish with a horse bet at the initial Aladdin, free “sliders” at the Boardwalk, free fun book and mug at the Sands, free microbrew samples from Holy Cow (or was it Holy Bull?). Hmm, I see a pattern – these places are gone! Like I said....the good old days. Thanks very much for the Members Rewards and all you do for Couponomy!” [Ed: You’re welcome!]
- ”I also search for discounts from travelzoo.com. “
- ”The 3 O’Clock club.com is a good source for coupons, also.”
- ”We pick up free coupons and flyers at the Las Vegas Tourist Bureau on Paradise Road, across from the convention center or the Welcome Center at State Line. The folks there are friendly and helpful, and often have coupons not on the display racks that they hand out if you ask.”
- ”There are a lot of us that travel alone. Unfortunately, LVA rewards does barely anything anymore for us. Bring back more deals for singles.” [Ed: Huh? We have more deals each year for singletons. We don’t deny that the casinos are more reluctant to do coupons for 50% off than offer a twofer, but we have been fighting for – and getting them – more and more. We just did a quick tally and counted at least 65 coupons in the 2011 MRB that are good for a single traveler, across the spectrum of dining, entertainment, and gambling.]
- ”The 24/7 Magazines available in the taxis and many other location are a great source of coupons.”
- ”Don't forget the Fremont Street coupons on the www.vegasexperience.com/coupons site (any email address, and password "RealVegas").”
- ”I take advantage of the casino players clubs for free rooms, discounted buffets, BOGO free shows.”
- ”I've tried to use restaurants.com, but end up with a barrage of unwanted e-mails from 50 different other kinds of services. Wish they would clean up their act!”
- ”I’ve often used the coupon books some hotels (Bally’s, TI (in the old days), Westin Casuarina, Golden Nugget) present when you check in or which are part of a reserved room package. They often have decent coupons for restaurants, cocktails and/or match play. “
- ”I would subscribe to LVA and use your coupons in a flash if I visited Las Vegas more than once or twice a year. But I don't and therefore, it doesn't seem economical to subscribe to LVA, although I also love the information in the newsletter. I buy American Casino Guide because I do go to other places with casinos for which the guide has coupons, thereby making it seem like a better deal. Can you explain the economics of buying LVA if you are only a once/year visitor to LV?” [Ed: For sure, but space here doesn’t permit. We’ll address this as a future QoD.]
- ”We did our first ever coupon run in June (most were LVA- Thank you very much!) and it was a hoot. I received $100 in free play at Terribles from the LVA coupon and won $140 with the free play. YEA! Besides the opportunity to expand our gambling budget using coupons made us get off the strip and visit other casinos. I’d love to see more coupons like the Terribles offer. “
- ”Both Caesars Entertainment Group and MRI have signs all over the place with numbers to text to receive offers via text message from their various casino resorts while in town. They usually continue for about 5 days then stop. For example, I have gotten BOGO meals and freeplay using this method.”
- ”Folks, if I didn't receive coupons for free shows, free food and lodging, etc. from Caesar's Inc., I would probably use a lot more of the sources you mention. I am familiar with all and use Groupon, LivingSocial, etc. back home quite a bit. I also have the Entertainment book and do go to Restaurants.com but not for Vegas. I get all I can possibly eat for free or nearly free at the 8 or 9 Caesar's properties. Plus I play just enough at Casino Royale to always get enough points for two comp dinners at the Outback upstairs.”
- ”I use ACG because they still include some gambling coupons, which are what I value.”
- ”I voted for other because I use VEGAS4LOCALS on Ebay. Great deals and a great way to plan your vacation in Vegas.”
- ”I used to get a lot of coupons from the website billhere.com. That was a great site for getting all sorts of information about and discounts in Las Vegas. Don’t really know what happened to it, tried to find it a few months ago and it would not come up. Do you know?” [Ed: No, but we’ll look into it.]
- ”We use Radio Shopping show and Station’s Deal of the Day on the web.” [Ed: Yes, we just used a Stations deal for a free room at Aliante, but note that the We Luv Locals site deals are for locals only.]
- ”Whenever I book a trip to Vegas, I sign up for Groupon and LivingSocial right away. It just takes a few seconds to sign up and another fewseconds to stop them when I've returned home. My husband and I took a 3-wheel scooter trip to check out Red Rocks Park last year that was fabulous. I would have never known about it or done it without a deal and it was a blast. I use daily deals all the time at home so it makes sense to use them on vacation, too.”
