Analysis
Looks like there was no contest here, with Big Al's at the Orleans the runaway leader here. It's been a few years since we last dined there, but it gets good reviews on our site and has stood the test of time since it opened back in 2000.
As far as your "Other" picks are concerned, the Triple 7 Brewpub at Main Street Station seems to have been our biggest ommission, with one reader summing it up for everyone: "They have an excellent oyster bar. Very reasonably priced by the dozen or in an oyster shooter (delicious.) Always fresh shucked and kept on ice until you order. I stop there every trip." The only other venue to get a special mention was Hooters, to which we also gave a glowing review for their "Oyster Pan Roast" (it's a bucket of roasted oysters that you shuck yourself) in the Jan. '09 issue of LVA.
As to our current top pick, we're ranking the "Oyster Riot" at P.J. Clarkes in the Forum Shops one of the best happy hours around, not just for the price of the oysters ($1 each, earning them Top 10 status), but for the quality. Plus, they now come served with half-price drinks. Conversely the Palm in the same venue disappointed on both fronts.
