Analysis

Thanks to everyone who voted, nearly 500 of you. In the 2019 poll, nearly 3,000 voted, but that was before the site, including the polls, was paywalled.

In the 2019 poll, visits of the same length as previous ones placed first among all the choices with 19% of the votes. This year, that dropped to 9%, while the same number of visits declined from 7% at fourth in the rankings to 3% and way down at ninth place. And that was with the caveat that the trips would be consciously more economical that previous ones.

Visiting once stayed the same at 17%, while twice dropped a point from 16% to 15%, thrice went up from 7% to 9% this year, four times rose from 5% to 6%, and more than four rose from 9% to 13%. All in all, it seems that you're not only still making the Sin City pilgrimage, but actually coming a bit more often than before the pandemic.

It was also interesting to us to see that only 3% of you are curtailing trips due to the high prices. Of course, we didn't ask this question in the 2019 poll; it simply wasn't relevant. But 7% of you won't be visiting at all compared to 5% in the 2019 survey.

The two polls aren't exactly apples to apples, but close enough to see that you're still coming to Vegas and finding the good deals that make your trips worthwhile.

    IRMAA is One Reason
I’m growing weary of paying Income-Related Monthly Adjustment to the government because of gambling winnings. i do not have the self control to just play quarter VP. In 2026, I’ll get a busking circle on Fremont to complete a bucket list item. That will be my one trip. Donate generously.

    Get away
I enjoy getting away from the office so will go to LV several times. But I definitely has changed my spending especially on little things like not getting donuts or cookies as they are $9 at the Horseshoe.

    Maybe once
I am recovering from a stroke so not sure if I will be ok to go next year.If Igo I will gamble downtown (best odds playing craps and win enough to see Eagles at the Sphere!

    Hopefully
I've been 4 times a year for last 10 years and no reason to change

    Twice
I am coming to Las Vegas twice in 26. It’s all because of the entertainment. Seeing The Eagles and Def Leppard in one trip, Sir Rod the next.

    Hoping the best for Boyd
Hoping the hotel offers from Boyd continue to come, despite their implosion of the old Rewards program, allowing me to stay downtown.

    Video poker worsening
In the Phoenix area, there is good low limit blackjack, and good low limit poker. One thing Arizona doesn't have is good video poker. Nevada still does, but it's tightening up every year. Laughlin has no 9-6 JOB VP anymore, so it's a wasteland for me, despite many mail offers. LV still does.

2 times. Like I have for the past 20 years.

Still The Best Bang For Your Buck Vacation
As long free or room mailers keep coming in. As long LVA keeps cranking out the coupons and inside info. As long as California casinos are without sports books, you can count me in for six visits a year.

From a gambling perspective, I like Reno better. There's better VP. But Las Vegas is great when a group of us from all over the country get together during the slow period in December. We do lots of tourist things and most of us stay downtown (YAY 4 Queens) or at discounted or comped hotels. We've taken a lot of advice from Jean Scott and use coupons from the LVA,

    Getting tired
I don't know... with all the "nickel and diming" going on at every casino, I'm getting really tired of the BS. It's not enough that you get ALL my money, you want my kid's money too.

  • Toni Armstrong Jr. Nov-24-2025
Coming to Vegas in ‘26 for sure!
Had to pick, so I said coming twice. I am hoping for thrice. 😀 Four Queens all the way, baby! (And I’m part of Diana Thorpe’s posse. She prefers Reno.)

    Health issues
At age 75, with arthritis and using a cane, the days of walking 4 miles down and back up the Strip are long gone but I do try to keep up with the LVA videos and like to see what is new on the strip and downtown. Would love to see The Sphere and miss the Bellagio conservatory but follow the changes they make. I do get to go to the local Chicagoland casinos, especially the new Hard Rock in Rockford and Gary and hope the new Hard Rock on the strip get finished. Miss Las Vegas but haven't been since Covid.

    Hoping for a Change
I am from Chicago and have been going to LV 3-4 times a year for twenty years. I will not be visiting at all in the near future. This is due to several factors such as the price gouging, resort fees, parking fees, and general severe decrease in value. I hope that along with others we might make a statement to the powers that be, not that I'm super optimistic that it will help. Now that there are several casinos in the Chicago area, I can have a casino week without having to fly 1,500 miles, get a hotel, or pay for parking. It's not Vegas, but it will do.

  • Michael Taylor Nov-24-2025
    only once
Will go only once this year, down from 4 or 5 trips annually. Too expensive and the fun has evaporated some what. Have met with the same group every spring for 30 years and unfortunately this will be my only trip

  • Bryan Carr Nov-24-2025
    Biloxi
I live in the southeast. Biloxi has become a more attractive place to visit than Las Vegas. I used to visit Las Vegas every year but it has changed for the worse the past few years. Can’t beat the crab leg and lobster buffet offered three times a week for $40 at Treasure Bay.

  • kafka45 Nov-24-2025
    the wife gets good offers
We come to Vegas cause the wife still gets offers she likes from Penn of all companies. So.. we're retired and can do it. I go to the Pinball hall of fame... We catch a show... she likes slots... I wander around and Uber. I NEVER expect to win... And ain't disappointed..

    sphere
Coming to see and hear the Eagles in March. Excited about that one. Then a May visit and an October visit.

  • John Baker Nov-24-2025
    dog guy
Passed through LV going and returning to Reno/Tahoe and total expenditure in LV was a bottle of water and slice of pizza at McCarran (always call it that). Last stay at Flamingo, dirty, limited food options, $11 for an 88 cent bottle of distilled water. forget you, Caesars forever. Can drive to casino in IA in same time as flying to LV, less smoke, better tables, friendlier folks.

    Strip is dead to me
I still visit the same amount, but stay at local casinos or downtown due to the horrendous gambling on strip

  • Kunio Kawakami Nov-24-2025

I still go to vegas but it's not as much fun anymore.

  • Norman Braverman Nov-24-2025
    Down to One Visit
Used to go 3-4 times a year. Only planning on going once next year, and only to use the LVA Coupon Book. Table games have been priced out of my gambling budget, and the resort/parking fees are way out of hand. There are plenty of casinos within a two hour drive from the LA area that can satisfy my gambling itch, and pay 3:2 BJ. But I'll still look at the Advisor website every day.

  • Laurence Martin Nov-25-2025
    Still visit- stay off strip
Down to 1 trip per year mainly due to fees (gouge) and poor pay out on strip. The Paris was our go to for years, wife loved views of fountains. Now always stay off strip, good comps, lower minimum bets, better schedules, better priced food options. One trip to strip to see Bellagio Conservatory. One day downtown (wife does not like to stay downtown) and always a trip to the Neon museum to see what has been recently restored. I am 73 , still enjoy a visit

I stay at my timeshare in vegas. Resort and parking fees are ridiculous

  • Vegaslvr Nov-25-2025
    F1 decreased my trips
Love Vegas. I've been coming 4-5 times a year since 1996. Now it's about 3 because I refuse to come during F1 when Vegas is ruined. I've seen a lot of changes in 30 years, but this is the worst.

  • Mr. Seafood 21 Nov-25-2025
    VEGAS ALWAYS
I will come to LV at least 5-6 times. 2-3 with my brother & sister. 3-4 trips by myself. I have a friend in Vegas that I get together with on those trips. I have not paid for a room at a Caesars property in at least 12+ years. Other than breakfast or a light lunch all dinners are paid by "Celebration dinners", comps or using Reward Credits. My RC's don't really go down much. As long as they are applied the right way you earn as much as you use. I've been Diamond or higher for at least the last 12 years. Hit 7 Star in 24 and all of 25. Hit again for 26. Loyalty has it's perks. At home(Illinois) I play 95% at CET properties. If we rent a car in Vegas it's free parking. No Resort Fee's. Regarding gambling, I rarely play BJ anymore. I now play primarily the Carni games. 3 Card poker, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, DJ Wild, Let It Ride, Pai Gow and on a rare occasion Mississippi Stud.

    Vegas next year
The ONLY reason we are coming to celebrate our 50th anniversary. We did our 25th there and it’s appropriate. Will stay downtown, using the coupons from LVA. Probably the last visit ever. Want to visite luv it custard, neon bone yard and the mob museum. Other than that we will just chill at the no parking, no service charge, no bullshi* charges. Probably do more out of town searching. Maybe fly to Reno and visit Bobs burgers again! A last hurrah 🤠

  • Scott Reynolds Nov-29-2025

Been coming for over 30 years and averaging 3 visits a year, always downtown.

    people don't read instructions
This was a POLL, people. Not a call for individual essays, your plans for visitation in 2026.

But as always, everyone's comments are always interesting anyway.

  • Lucky Dec-03-2025
    Maybe no visits
I usually go 5 or 6 times a year Because of the new tax laws, and the gouge ripoff there, I may not gamble at all. Having to post a mandatory 10% gain, even if I lose more than I win just does not make sense. Lots of really big gamblers will go overseas. Hopefully, before long, congress will get rid of that new tax deduction limit on gambling winnings. I am a 7 Stars, and get lots of W2G's.

  • John Dulley Dec-03-2025
    Lots of comments
4 times a year for 13-14 years now and nothings changing!! The Wynn keeps sending free room offers and even the Venetian sends offers and I’ve barely gambled there the last three visits, guess they’re just trying to fill the rooms. Yeah prices have gotten out of control at some places but there’s ways around it. It’s a VACATION and I try not to sweat it..

  • Llew Dec-03-2025
    Something to consider
I would like to put forward that many people who no longer go to Las Vegas “die to higher prices and fees” probably no longer read the LVA. Obviously, those people would not have responded to, or even known about, the poll. Had those people been included, I think that the percentage of response to that particular choice would have been much higher.

  • Richard Dec-03-2025
    Same amount but different
I will be visiting LV the same amount but no longer give the cesspool that is the strip my business. I stay at local casinos that at least I can lose my $$ with a fighting chance, instead of bad VP and 6/5 BJ

  • Gambler_7 Dec-04-2025
    Move
Still like to try moving there, there's a will there's a way

  • Lotel Dec-10-2025
LVA not a good place for poll
most people on here are die hard Vegas fans. they enjoy and want to go to Vegas . they know how to get around the high prices or don't mind paying high prices , should just ask people on the streets of the strip or downtown
