Question of the Day - 21 May 2004

Q:
What does it mean when casinos advertise double or triple or bonus points?
A:

This refers to the awarding of slot club points. Players earn them when they play slots, video poker, and sometimes table games. The points can be redeemed for cash and amenities. On most days, casinos award single points. But as a promotion to attract players, many times on holidays or a particular day of the week, they run promotions that multiply the earning rates. On a double-points day, you have to play half as much to earn the regular number of points. On a triple-points day, you earn points at three times the normal rate.
