Question of the Day - 27 June 2004

Q:
I’ve heard Las Vegas has excellent Asian food of all kinds. I’m looking specifically for Vietnamese.
A:

Pho Vietnam, located in the Chinatown Plaza on Spring Mountain Rd. about two miles west of the Strip, serves excellent pho tai (noodle soup) for $5.50, as well as a full menu of Vietnamese items. It's two blocks from the Huntington Press office, so we eat there for lunch at least once a month.

Another great Vietnamese restaurant, though with a typical storefront appearance, is Pho Chien, at 3839 W. Sahara.

On the high end, Crustacean in the Desert Passage Mall at the Aladdin is renowned for its Vietnamese/French fusion cuisine, though you won’t get out of there for $5.50.
