Two MGM Mirage hotels (MGM Grand and New York-New York) and the four Caesars Entertainment hotels (Caesars Palace, Bally's, Flamingo, and Paris) maintain registration desks at the baggage claim area of McCarran Airport that allow their guests to check in and pick up room keys before leaving the airport.
On the flip side, McCarran Airport will complete the installation of SpeedCheck kiosks in the lobbies of a number of Las Vegas hotel-casinos by fall. The $2 million system prints boarding passes for 13 airlines that serve McCarran, thereby reducing waits at the airport. The participating resorts haven't been selected, but the airport is hoping to enlist the largest properties in order to put stress on the system for testing initial testing purposes.
The airport also hopes to be able to accept baggage and print bag tags when passengers check in at the casinos. This is a bit more problematic, since a subcontractor would have to check the bags and haul them to the airport, necessitating timetables and special security handling. Still, all these airport-casino connections should noticeably reduce travel times.
