Can you bet on the presidential election and if so, who is currently favored?

You can't bet on whether George W. Bush or John Kerry will win the 2004 presidential election in a Las Vegas sports book, which accepts bets on designated sporting events only. Nor can you make the bet in a Las Vegas race book (though it could be argued that the presidential election is something of a horse race). However, there's currently a brisk market being made by several offshore Web-based sports books. At this time, George Bush is about a 6-5 favorite.
