Q:
Where is the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign that appears in every screen presentation of the city? And is it illegal to park in front of it to take pictures?
A:
The sign is at the south end of the Strip, just south of Russell Road, on the median island between lane directions. As far as we know, it's not illegal to take pictures at the sign, but you probably won't want to park there, since you've got to jump a pretty big curb to get onto the island. You can park at the Klondike Casino and run across the northbound Strip. But be careful doing so: Cars whiz by there at a pretty good clip and unless you cross at the traffic light at Russell Road, you'll be jaywalking.
