Q:
What's the latest on Wet 'n Wild closing and plans for building a new water park? A sign at the park said, See you in 2006, but there were no details.
A:
The 2004 season will the last for Wet 'n Wild on the north Strip. (The landowner, Archon Corp., is planning to build an Australian-themed megaresort on the property.) A spokesman for Wet 'n Wild said that the company is "considering" opening a new park in an off-Strip location (Strip land is way too expensive now, compared to when the water park opened in 1984, and 80% of Wet 'n Wild's customers are local Las Vegans), but the earliest that it could happen would be 2006.
