Question of the Day - 23 September 2004

Q:
My kids are totally star-struck -- and they don't think they'll have any fun on a trip we're taking to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving weekend. Is there anywhere we can take them where they might see some stars?
A:

Actually, there's a place you can take them where they're guaranteed to see literally scores of pop, rock, movie, sports, political, and historical superstars. Not in the flesh, admittedly, but the next best thing.

It's Madame Tussaud's Celebrity Encounter, which boasts nearly 100 life-size and life-like wax statues of stars, including everyone from Brad Pitt to Michael Jackson, from Princess Diana to George W. Bush.

Absolutely be sure to take a camera and lots of extra film. Your kids will be able to cozy right up to the statues and you can snap away with abandon. When you get them developed, their friends will be hard-pressed to discern that your kids weren't posing with the real item.

Admission isn't cheap. Adults pay $21, while kids 3-12 are charged $10 (if you have a Nevada ID, adults pay $15). Madame Tussaud's is right next to the Venetian and it's open 11 am to 7 pm.
