Question of the Day - 09 October 2004

Q:
I've heard there's a beer that's brewed in Las Vegas. Can you tell me what it's called and where I can get it?
A:

Well, there are a number of beers brewed in Las Vegas -- at the Monte Carlo brewery, at Ellis Island, and a few others around town. But the one you're probably referring to is Sin City beer. Introduced about a year ago, Sin City is available only in drafts and only at a handful of casinos (Treasure Island, New York-New York, and Mandalay Place), along with the Harley Davidson Cafe on the Strip and a couple dozen bars around town.

The brewer is a local who worked at Gordon Biersch and a few other breweries in northern California. There are two varieties: Sin City Light (3.75% alcohol and 115 calories per 12-ounce glass) and Sin City amber (5.35% alcohol).

Sin City also sells logo T-shirts and beer glasses and mugs. Go to www.sincitybeer.com to find all the locations that sell Sin City beer and its products.

Plans include rolling out bottled Sin City beer sometime in 2005.
