Rumor has it that the Key Largo has been sold. Will they stay open with new owners or will the site be closed for development?
A:
As you say, it's just a rumor at this stage. But from what we've heard, Key Largo has been talking to several prospective buyers who would turn the property into a high-rise condo and get rid of the casino along the way. There's nothing official yet, but with the recent move toward high-rises in Las Vegas (see the current issue of LVA for the whole high-rise-craze story), we wouldn't be surprised if an announcement is made shortly.
