We’ve had three or four similar inquiries recently so we thought we’d pull an excerpt from our upcoming book, Neon Nuptials: The Complete Guide to Las Vegas Weddings, by Ken Van Vechten, which is due out in February.
However they were married the first time around, couples are flocking to Las Vegas to say "I do" all over again in vow-renewal ceremonies. Although renewals aren’t weddings and the state doesn’t grant them any recognition in law, many couples think the sequel is as good as the original. And as Las Vegas wedding chapels love green almost as much as pink, any scheme hatched for people to get "married" again is fair game. Other than hauling along a copy of your marriage certificate—some chapels ask to see it—the only thing required is to show up with your lawful spouse and reaffirm the best decision you ever made in your life.
