Question of the Day - 03 October 2005

Q:
Which hotels offer mini-bars and/or mini-refrigerators in their rooms?
A:

In our efforts to identify the hotels that offer a mini-bar and/or mini-refrigerator in their rooms, we found that several places, such as Aladdin, Vegas Club, and TI, only offer those amenities in some of their rooms. For example, only the MVP rooms at Vegas Club have a mini-bar in them.

The hotels that have a mini-bar in each of their rooms include: Bellagio, Casino Royale, Four Seasons, Green Valley Ranch, Hard Rock, Paris, Silverton, Venetian, and Westin Casuarina. Harrah’s has them in most rooms, we were told.

Tuscany, Westin Casuarina, and Rio informed us that all of their rooms contain a mini-refrigerator. A refrigerator is available by request (based on availability) at no extra charge at Fremont, Gold Coast, and Fitzgeralds (for medical reasons only at Fitzgeralds). Upon request, for a fee, and as long as one is available, you can get a refrigerator in your room at Excalibur and Flamingo for $15/day, Imperial Palace for $7.50/day, and Fiesta Henderson for $10/day.

Always be sure to check and make sure these options still exist before making a reservation, as Golden Nugget, for example, told us that some of their rooms once had mini-bars but none do any longer.

Update 07 December 2006
LATEST UPDATE: Red Rock Resort has a mini-bar in each room and a refrigerator will be provided on request, at no extra charge. The rooms at Wynn Las Vegas also contain both a mini-bar and a fridge. South Coast has neither, but you can request a mini-refrigerator for a charge of $15 per night. 10/03/2005 Here's some additional reader feedback:
  • "During my stay in July, I asked for a refrigerator in the Bellagio and they sent one right up, no fee attached. Also our 'atrium suite' room at the Frontier had a mini fridge. Great for storing the comped take-out beer from Terribles!"
  • "The Riveria has refrigs in at least the Monte Carlo tower."
