The 23rd Annual AVN Awards show will be held in Las Vegas on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at the Venetian. Tickets are priced at $250 each or $2,250 for a table of 10 and, to the best of our knowledge, are still available from the AVN Web site at the time of this writing (no one from the organization returned our call).
Las Vegas has long been home to the AVN Awards, dubbed the "Oscars of Adult" by "Entertainment Weekly," with previous venues including the old Aladdin, the Tropicana, Bally's, the Riviera, and Caesars Palace. This year's awards will be the sixth successive ceremony to be hosted by the Venetian and will reward almost 100 categories throughout the adult industry.
The event is timed to coincide with the Adult Entertainment Expo, the world's largest porn convention (also held at the Venetian in the Sands Expo Center) and features a show and dinner co-hosted by adult star Jesse Jane and comedian Greg Fitzsimmons. AVN has teamed up with Rose Tours and Travel to offer packages that include tickets to the Awards ceremony, accommodation at either the Venetian or Flamingo hotels, and unlimited access to the Adult Entertainment Expo January 5th–8th.
