There's no definite date yet, but the prediction of "late March to early April" on the Venetian’s Web site is apparently now definitely leaning toward the early April end of the scale, as they’re running a little behind schedule.
Although we can’t yet give you a firm opening date, we can provide a few other details about the room. It will be located next to the race and sports book and comprise almost 11,000 square feet, with 32 tables in the main room and five high-limit tables and two VIP high-stakes tables in the Salon. Apparently, the décor will be reminiscent of a gentlemen’s smoking club (minus the smoke – it’s all smoke-free), with "earth-tone décor" featuring rich leathers and woods, plus 21 42-inch plasma TV screens throughout. There will be complimentary valet parking and safe deposit boxes for players, with butler service and gourmet dining in the high-limit areas.
The games offered will include Texas hold 'em (limit and no-limit), stud, and Omaha, with regular game limits ranging from $4-$8 to $4,000-$8,000. The tournament schedule will be announced after opening and the room will operate 24/7.
