Question of the Day - 26 April 2006

Q:
My husband is a recovering alcoholic. He tries to attend two to three meetings a week. We will be traveling to Las Vegas in May and wonder if there are any meetings he can attend close to the Strip. Is there a Web site or any info that I can get on it?
A:

Alcoholics Anonymous meetings are held every day in all parts of Las Vegas, including the Strip. A majority of them are open to all, but some are men or women only and some are "closed," i.e., for alcoholics only and not open to family members or friends of recovering alcoholics. There are also non-smoking meetings and specialized meetings catering to newcomers and gays.

For full listings of the meetings in the area most convenient for you, go to the Las Vegas Central Office's Web site at lvcentraloffice.org and click on the "Meeting List" link on the left. We called this office to verify that the information is up to date and they confirmed that the site is updated on a monthly basis. If you require further information or help, the office is open 24/7 and can be reached at 702/598-1888 or via email at [email protected].
