Question of the Day - 24 May 2006

Q:
Las Vegas and its surrounding areas are well known for their golf courses but where can I, a kid at heart, find a mini-golf course?
A:

Since Scandia Family Fun Center closed last year and with it the venue's three 18-hole miniature golf courses, to the best of our knowledge there's now only one place in Las Vegas where you can play mini-golf and that's at the Circus Circus Adventuredome. Admission to this five-acre indoor theme park is free, with different prices charged for the various rides and attractions, which include a roller coaster, thrill rides, indoor rock climbing and bungee jumping, a virtual reality zone, and an arcade. The 18-hole miniature golf course, called Pike's Pass, is $5 per person per round and is currently open from 11 am-6 pm Monday through Thursday, and until 9 pm Sunday, and until 11 pm Friday and Saturday (opening hours vary throughout the year, so check the "General Information" link on their Web site for up-to-date opening hours). An all-day pass is available for $22.95 (for adults; children's prices are determined by height) and, until May 31, 2006, $4 discount coupons are available from participating Taco Bells in the Las Vegas area.

Update 02 July 2008
A new indoor miniature golf course has now opened. Called "King Putt," the Egyptian-themed venue is located at 9230 S. Eastern Ave. and although we haven't tried it out for ourselves yet, we've heard from friends' kids that it's pretty cool (it looks to be from the pic.) You can find more details in the "Other" section in the Activities section in our LVA Visitor Guide. 05/21/2006 Thanks to the reader who wrote in to inform us that there's a coupon in the current Circus Circus funbook that gets you a free round of golf when you purchase one round, with a limit of four people per coupon. The coupons must be presented at the Pike's Pass ticket counter and are valid through December 31, 2006.
