We kicked off 2006 with a reader poll and we got such good responses, we figured we'd do it again. This time last year, we asked for your opinions about the best and worst of Las Vegas in 2005 and your wish list for 2006. Seems Santa wasn't listening, as the latter included "more 100% return video poker machines"; "lower rental car prices"; "no more closing of older properties -- keep the Stardust, please!"; "less Hollywood celebrities"; and "more competition and some new blood among the casinos."
Oh dear.
On the other hand, the widespread desire for more non-smoking areas has at least been partially realized, and the Clark County Commissioners approved a monorail extension from the MGM to McCarran Airport, so if the whole troubled enterprise doesn't go belly-up, this wish may be granted sometime, although not anytime soon.
This time around, we decided we'd get a little personal. We'd like you to send us your own best and/or worst experiences in and of Las Vegas in 2006. Did you hit a huge jackpot? Have your pocket picked? Lose your shirt? Get married? Get divorced? Eat the best meal of your life? Get thrown up on by a celebrity? Catch a Chippendale's underpants?
We want to know all the details, where possible (and legal) with supporting photographic evidence, and we'll feature the best answers in an upcoming QoD. Don't worry -- remember that what happened here stays here, so we won't name names if you request anonymity.
As usual, please submit all your stories via the QoD submission link.
