Question of the Day - 18 November 2007

Q:
We moved to Las Vegas about a month after Thanksgiving last year so we are not sure what the places around Las Vegas do for Thanskgiving. Can you tell me some places to go and have a nice dinner and save my wife a lot of time? Since it's just the two of us now, we have no reason to fix a big feast.
A:

Back by popular demand (yours was far from the only QoD request we received along these lines), it's the annual LVA Thanksgiving meal round-up. At the time of our calling, some places still hadn't finalized times and/or menus and space doesn't permit reproducing them all anyhow, so call the venue of your choice if you want to know exactly what the set-menu choices are.

What follows is a list of all the buffets providing festive offerings (pretty much all of them, apart from Terrible's), plus the price (most hike it up by a buck or two), together with all that we've managed to glean from casino restaurants laying on a special Thanksgiving menu, together with a few non-casino options. Nearly everyone is offering traditional turkey and/or ham options, but chefs being creative types, you'll find some funky twists here and there and some less-than-traditional treatments of the humble pumpkin (ravioli, crème brulée, gelato, profiteroles, and tiramisu, to name a few).

Book sooner rather than later to avoid going hungry. And happy holidays to all!
