As everyone knows, in October 2003, Roy Horn was dragged offstage by the neck during their show at the Mirage by Montecore, the white tiger that almost cost the magician his life. (Horn and partner Siegfried Hornsbacher remain convinced that Montecore "sensed Horn was having a mini-stroke and was dragging him to safety, rather than attacking him.")
In a recent gossip column by Norm Clarke in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the illusionist pair hinted that they're in the "conceptual" stage of returning to show business. Roy, 63, was quoted as saying, "A good magician never lets the cat out of the bag. Act surprised when you hear about it."
Fishbacher, 68, told Clarke that he wasn't ready for retirement: "The stage is my life."
Horn told Clarke that he regularly visits his animals, including Montecore, at the Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden at Mirage. He and Fishbacher have been making regular public appearances this year at events ranging from the televised NBA All-Star opening party to Oktoberfest at the Hofbräuhaus and downtown's Great Santa Run.
Also according to Norm, a "tell-all book" by Siegfried and Roy will be released early next year.
