Question of the Day - 13 March 2008

Q:
When did you first start Question of the Day and how many questions have you answered to date?
A:

This question, which we've received often (beginning, perhaps, two years ago), has been held till today to be answered. It was May 1, 2005, when we re-introduced this popular LasVegasAdvisor.com feature (debuted experimentally in 2004) with the increased firepower of a manager and several researchers. Adding up the days and subtracting poll questions and their results, today marks our 1,000th QoD. The result of these labors is a database of Las Vegas information that's likely larger than exists in any other single place, and we have plans for more.

To commemorate this auspicious occasion, we’re taking the opportunity to inform you, our faithful readers new and old, of two things we’re working on to make your QoD experience more enjoyable and productive.

First, we’re programming more searchability and organization into Question of the Day. After these improvements are implemented, you’ll be able to search the vast QoD archive by question category and keyword/subject, as well as date.

And second, in order that everyone can avail themselves of these powerful new functions, we plan to open up the archives to one and all!

Also imminent -- within the next few days, in fact -- is the roll-out of a new look for LasVegasAdvisor.com. It's going to be subtle rather than radical, but fundamental nonetheless.

The upgrades of the usability and design of QoD and the entire Web site are all engendered to facilitate the ongoing release of gigantic quantities of Las Vegas and gambling content that we’ve compiled, stockpiled, and archived over the past 25 years, and continue to add to and update on a daily basis.
