We still intend to open up the Question of the Day archives for everyone to see, but before we do we're taking the opportunity to improve the way previous questions have been categorized and to increase and refine the searchability of the archives.
Until now, each question has had to be fit into the straight-jacket of one category only, when in fact many questions cross the line between several subjects. For example, do you file a QoD about swim-up blackjack under "Blackjack" or "Accommodation" or even "Lifestyle"? So, we're adding new search categories and keyword prompts and refining the existing ones; this way there are multiple ways to find the information you might be looking for.
We're also enhancing the presentation of the search area and the QoDs themselves, all working toward making this popular feature as user-friendly as possible.
Plus, we're taking this opportunity to look for broken and expired links and other fixes that need to be made, and noting which QoDs could use an update.
With what's now well over 1,000 past QoDs stored, any kind of revamp is a big job. We have a dedicated member of the staff working on the categorizing, which we estimate will take another three to four weeks. After that, the baton gets handed to our IT deptartment, which will work on finessing the presentation of the archives.
And when that is ready and we're happy, we'll release this beast from captivity and into the wild, for everyone to enjoy.
