An LVA staffer has driven past the Paiute reservation a couple of times this year and not seen anything resembling casino development in the neck of the woods to which you’re referring. Adds Clark County Public Information Officer Stacy Welling, "We don’t have any plans submitted for any kind of a new casino project out at the Indian Springs area."
We also checked with the Nevada Gaming Control Board, who told us the only thing even remotely resembling the rumored project was an expansion of the Indian Springs Casino, in Indian Springs proper, into a non-restricted gaming property. In layman’s terms, "non-restricted" means any gambling venue with more than 15 slots and/or table games (including poker).
At the time the 2006-2007 edition of the North American Gaming Almanac was published, Indian Springs Casino had 64 video poker and slot machines, one (unspecified) table game and one poker table. However, when we called them (Nov. 13) they told us they now have no table games. Are they planning to add any? "I don’t believe so," was the response.
